A little French cheese shop that has an amazing selection of mostly French cheeses, charcuterie, and outstanding sandwiches (get their tuna melts please). Prices are high but for the quality makes it worth it.

1 star. Chèvre’s East Coast lobster wrap wasn’t just disappointing — it was downright infuriating. My very first bite slammed into a massive lobster shell, and that was the moment the entire experience went straight downhill. The wrap was a soggy, flavorless mess with the texture of a mushy purée instead of anything resembling a premium lobster dish. What made it worse — the owner’s attitude. Nasty, arrogant, and completely dismissive. Instead of acknowledging the issue, he acted like I was the problem. The level of disrespect was unbelievable, especially considering the price they charge for this so‑called “specialty” item. The hype from Snackeatingsnacks couldn’t have been more misleading. This was, without exaggeration, the worst wrap I’ve ever had. Not worth the money, not worth the buzz, and absolutely not worth dealing with an owner who clearly doesn’t care about quality or customers. If you’re even thinking about trying it, save yourself the frustration. There are far better lobster options out there. And yes — the shell is in the photo.

I was pleasantly surprised today when visiting Chèvre, as my original plan was to have one of their sandwiches at the shop. As we arrived we were greeted by one of their staff members who not only gave us his top recommendations for the sandwiches, the French man and la italiana, but also told us about our wine counter/ bar and the sommelier who runs it, as an option to enjoy our food. We were obviously intrigued and jump to the option, and I must say it is a small but cozy room, the sommelier made a great wine recommendation and we had a great time! Will be definitely be coming back. By the way, lat but not least, please order the classic basque cheesecake, we had the classic and the pistachio one, and if you ask me, go with the classic!

Good place to get a sandwich and elevated grosseries. We tried 4 different sandwiches, my favorite were the Himmy and Grilled cheese. To be fair Grilled cheese had so much butter and cheese it would be hard to spoil that. You order in the store and then if you choose to stay in to eat, while it is still warm, are taken to a separate entrance where there is a room with a bar. It can feel hectic, as the store is super tiny so even with couple other shoppers feels crowded. The dining room is decorated nicely but also quite cluttered with boxes in a few places, so feels like you are eating in a storage closet. Cheesecake while good wasn't mind blowing, texture is great but in my opinion it is overly sweet and has too much caramel. Sugar can make almost anything good, same as butter.

This may be the finest Basque or burnt cheesecake you will ever experience, possibly even the best cheesecake overall. It is not a dense, solid cake adorned with berries and cream, but rather a harmonious blend of multiple creamy textures. It offers a very mild flavor with just the right amount of sweetness. While it is a bit more expensive, I assure you it is well worth the cost.
